Audi A3 2020 TFSI 1.5L Review

In November 2019 Audi rolls the new Audi A3 2020 to the dealers. For the first time, the compact model (internal AU380) was shot down by the Photographer.

Audi A3 2020 Redesign

The three-door A3 has its future in the future, even a convertible offer the Ingolstadt no longer. It remains with the sedan and the four-door Sportback.

Visually, the A3 is based on the recently introduced A1. His design should be significantly more striking. He also comes with wide fenders, slightly larger gauge and sporty Looking, therefore. On the Spy pictures is easy to see that the grill is growing. Underneath the headlights with a distinctive signature, a jagged line characterizes the face of the A3. In addition to new aprons and newly designed door handles, the wheel arches are also being redesigned. Overall, the body should achieve an improved cW value.

Interior

The A3 Sportback features an almost combo-like storage space in the new generation. The compact offers about 410 liters – plus 30 liters. Thanks to a longer wheelbase, the rear passengers should have more space. At the front, the driver grabs a three-spoke steering wheel with a small baffle and looks at a digital instrument cluster. Another screen on the dashboard is responsible for controlling the infotainment system. The center console is wider, the seats sportier.

Engine & Features

The new Audi A3 2020 is based on the modified Modular Transverse Toolbox (MQB) of the VW Group. On the engine side, only turbocharged engines are at the start. In the gasoline engine, there are four-cylinder with 2.0 and 1.5-liter capacity. The high-compression 1.5-liter TFSI produces 150 hp and has cylinder deactivation. The unit with 130 hp is also intended for natural gas operation. The two-liter TFSI will initially afford up to 190 hp. Later joins even more power levels, so that a range of about 130 to well over 200 hp comes about. All petrol engines are equipped with a 48-volt electrical system and e-boost.

The diesel in the A3 are all equipped with particle filter and SCR catalytic converter. A starter generator and a 12-volt electrical system support the two-liter diesel, which will consume significantly less.

Audi will continue to offer the S3 and RS3 as top models in the future. The Audi S3 with its turbocharged four-cylinder will come to around 330 hp in the future. It is still questionable whether the 2.5-liter five-cylinder continues to perform its duties in the RS3 or that the four-cylinder unit is also in the top A3. Fix: The RS3 makes over 400 hp.
