But it’s under the Hood where the Czech crossover has turned the cards into play. The House of the Winged arrow has, in fact, designed to equip the compact SUV with a new hybrid powertrain that, unlike the usual schemes (electric/gasoline or electric/diesel), uses a thermal engine powered by methane (natural gas) and two Electric motors of different performances. The front pulses a 1.5-liter TSI G-TEC 130 hp and 250 Nm powered by two methane cylinders placed under the sofa and behind the rear axle; At the rear lies an electric unit of 1,000 Nm of maximum torque used for the integral traction; The second electric motor is finally placed in the engine compartment in place of the alternator to help the heat engine and to recharge the TSI G-TEC during braking thanks to its 70 Nm of maximum torque.

Thanks to this system the 2019 Skoda Vision X can only operate in electric mode for only 2 kilometers (rear wheel drive) or in combined mode or with the only thermal motor (front drive) for a total range of 650 km, Ensuring a maximum speed of 200 km/h and a 0-100 km/h in 9.3 seconds.
