Unveiled the first Suv of Lamborghini history, 2019 Lamborghini Urus. Strong of a V8 4.0 biturbo gasoline from 650 Hp of Audi derivation, it snaps from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 “thanks to the 4WD and the automatic 8-speed gearbox.
Ladies and gentlemen, the mutants are among us. The Lamborghini Urus, the long-awaited sports utility of the House of Sant’Agata Bolognese, is finally a reality. A car of rupture, given that it brings in range the turbocharger and, above all, allows the bull brand to debut in a segment, that of the hyper Suv, at the time manned by the only Bentley Bentayga.
Derived from the concept unveiled in 2012 and aesthetically inspired by the show car Asterion LPI 910-4, the Urus can count on a V8 biturbo gasoline-derived Audi. More precisely, an 8-cylinder (90 °) of 3,996cc from 650 Hp and 850 Nm of torque, characterized by direct injection of gasoline, by variable timing suction and discharge side and of the turbocharger by two twin-scroll turbochargers. Technology, the latter, which provides for each bank the conveyance of the exhaust gases to the relative turbine through separate conduits. An engine that draws to mind what is adopted by the Audi RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback, but adapted to obtain a typical “Lambo”, touch the 6,800 rpm and release 650 Horsepower instead of the 605 Horsepower tarnishing the performance versions of the brand of Rings.
The V8 4.0 Biturbo is “lowered” inside an aluminum and carbon shell conceptually similar to what was adopted by the “cousin” Huracán. Unlike the latter, the 2019 Lamborghini Urus has a 7-speed double-clutch transmission, with a torque converter with an automatic gearbox with 8 ZF ratios. The traction, from the Lamborghini tradition, is permanent integral and is characterized by the breakdown of the thrust predominantly towards the rear, with the central differential TorSen that accompanies a back unit of type Torque vectoring, so as to Distribute the kgm between the wheels in a variable way on the same axle, facilitating the insertion in the trajectory and containing the understeer.
A distant relative of Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne, the Urus follows a schematism of the Multilink suspensions both at the front and at the rear and uses pneumatic springs – instead of the magnetorheological suspensions of the bull supercar – and active anti-roll bars. The rear steering axle derives from the centenary, the first Lamborghini ever to boast of this technology, and is called to work in phase or backstage compared to the front according to the speed of the car. Such refinement is confirmed in the braking system of type PCCB with front discs from 440 mm in diameter and rear 370 mm on which pliers, respectively, 10 and 6 pistons are acting. Of the real “vices” called to contain the exuberance of the 2019 Lamborghini Urus, so as to guarantee it to stop from 100 km/h in 33.7 meters (!) despite a weight of 2,197 kg.

The hyper Suv of Sant’Agata Bolognese, accredited with a weight/power ratio of 3.38 kg/H, it boasts dizzying performance, since it snaps from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, from 0 to 200 km/h in 12.8 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 305 km/h. Performance even more worthy of Note If you consider the size of the car, 5.1 meters long and 2 meters wide, compared to a height of 1.64 meters. Values can make “small” even the new Porsche Cayenne, shorter than almost 20 cm. And the price? From 206,000 Euro. If you are Sheikhs, start filling out the cheque.
